Kurdistan Parliament is Three Legislative Terms Behind and 12 Years Overdue

The Kurdistan Parliament should now be holding elections for its ninth term, not delaying elections for the sixth term. Political parties in Kurdistan lack public trust in their governance capabilities.

The PAE (Progress and Development Institute), which monitors the activities of the Kurdistan Parliament, expressed its stance on the ongoing failure to hold elections during a press conference today, stating, "The Kurdistan Parliament is three legislative terms behind and 12 years overdue. By now, elections should be held for the ninth term instead of postponing the sixth term elections. This creates a significant problem for the democratic process. We believe that the political parties in Kurdistan lack public confidence in their governance."

The statement emphasizes the democratic setback caused by these delays and criticizes the current political state as undermining the democratic process due to the lack of timely elections and the parties' inability to effectively exercise their authority.
